Members

The Board of Adjustment is composed of nine members appointed by the City Council. Eight members vote and one member serves as an alternate on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

The Board of Adjustment considers certain regulations of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, hears appeals of administrative decisions related to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, and regulates legal non-conforming uses. Effective November 2005, the Building Inspection Department serves as the staff coordinator for the Board of Adjustment.

Applications

Applications for the Board of Adjustment (PDF) may be made at the Building Inspection Department. There is a cost of $200 for residential and $300 for non-residential cases to be heard by the Board. This fee is non-refundable. You may call the Building Inspection Department at 972-205-2300 for additional information.
