E-Life

Has your child ever needed local environmental information for a school project, or have you ever wondered how your daily decisions impact the natural world around you?

CBS 11 News, together with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, and the member cities of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, have introduced the E-life program to help North Texans better understand their surroundings and the factors that influence their environmental quality of life.  The E-Life program is a focused effort to provide local environmental information via feature news stories and a dedicated website.  After the stories air, they can be viewed on the E-Life website’s story archive.  The website also includes aerial photography of the Trinity River Watershed, information regarding upcoming local events and weather-related facts and photos.

The City of Garland’s Mutt Mitts and DOO the Right Thing programs were featured when the program launched in April 2006.  Both Stormwater Management and Environmental Waste Services are actively involved in showcasing Garland’s environmental efforts through this program.
