Identity Theft -  Reporting

If a person obtains, possesses, transfers or uses identifying information of another person without that person's consent, and with the intentions of harming or defrauding another, the act is considered a criminal offense.  The offense is known as Identity Theft, and is classified as a felony offense.

Identifying information can be described as your name, social security number, date of birth, telephone number, and many other unique, identifying information.

If you believe that you are the victim of identity theft, please help yourself by helping us report and investigate the crime.

In order to help us, we ask that you fill out a Garland Police Department Identity Theft packet.  The packet can be downloaded online, or you may pick up the packet at the Garland Police Department front desk in the main lobby of the police department.  Once the identity theft packet is turned into the police department, along with a notarized copy of the affidavit that is included, a police report will be generated.  Please click the appropriate link below to start the process.

Thank you for your cooperation.
